Fangirlish Squee!

The very lovely Gina sent me the link to a NPR interview with George Clooney. She knows my fangirlish tendencies. ;) This is a wonderful interview so I thought I'd share it! I swear I'm not obsessed with him or anything; it is not the 90s anymore. ;) Hee. Clooney is as down-to-earth as a famous guy like him could be, and I can't help but enjoy hearing him talk politics & movies. :)

You know, I only heard it midway through, so I'll have to go back and relisten.

He really sounds so much fun, and real. And yummy! Mmmmmm...

I swear, if not for NPR and the internet, my brain would atrophy.

I'm not a huge fan of George, per se, and I have no interest in listening to him talk about politics (I'll for the life of me never understand why celebrities think we give a rat's arse about the political views of you know, an actor, but I guess some, including the lovely Gen and Gina, do) but I do think he is shaping into quite a fine director. I ADORED "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and I cannot wait for "Good Night and Good Luck." Nice transitioning, George.

(I also really liked "Solaris" but I think that had less to do with George and more to do with that fabulously intense script.)

See though, Clooney is totally unpretentious about his stance on politics. I can't suffer people like Sean Penn who are totally pompous about it, and think everyone should listen to them. I generally like people who take interest in social issues & politics (actors included but it's not like they should have a special influence) as long as a) they don't offer uninformed opinions or b)think their opinions are gospel. But I certainly respect that YMMV.

Clooney is very talented. I liked Confessions too and can't wait for Good Night and Good Luck. I really liked Solaris too but I think we are the only people who did. I thought it was such a lovely movie.
